It is with very fond thoughts and prayers that we announce the passing of Reta Seehagel after a very full life of 93 years.
Reta was born on January 2, 1932 to Philip and Philippine Goertz, in the Stony Plain area. She married Albert Seehagel on March 26, 1951 in Stony Plain. Together they had three children, Judi (Brian), Wendy (Dennis) and Darren (Brenda). She also leaves behind six grandchildren (Jodi, Jesse, Josh, Adam, Nick, Blye) and nine great-grandchildren (Noa, Lauren, Daylan, Karsyn, Avery, Brooklynn, Jordan, Finnlee, Bryson) who she loved and treasured dearly.
Reta and Albert farmed in the Holborn area southwest of Stony Plain from the time they were married until they retired from the farm to Stony Plain in the late 1990’s. They loved to travel and on numerous occasions visited Hawaii, many parts of the southern US and other destinations with close friends and family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert, her parents, her younger brother Arnold Goertz and sister Marla Schultz as well as many other family members and good friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers from the Stony Plain Good Samaritan Care Centre who so lovingly looked after Reta over the past three plus years.
