1939 – 2021
“In The Arms Of Jesus”
On the afternoon of December 28, 2021, it pleased the Almighty God to call Sidney home. Sidney Jacob Kulak was born on November 27, 1939 to Henry and Emma (Hennig) Kulak. He was born again of water and the Spirit in Holy Baptism at St. Matthew Lutheran Church on December 17, 1939 performed by Pastor Emil Eberhardt. He reaffirmed his faith in the Rite of Confirmation on April 11, 1954 at St. Matthew with Pastor Philip Janz.
On June 21, 1963 he married Judy Graf, daughter of Jacob and Esther (Schoepp) Graf of Golden Spike. Their union was blessed with three children; Susan, Keith & David.
Sidney & Judy remained on the family farm until 1980, at which time it was sold and they moved into Stony Plain. He worked at various schools as a custodian, including St. Matthew School and church until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed curling in his younger years and had a strong desire for God’s Word. He loved being in fellowship with friends and family, playing cards, and cherished his annual trips to Miette Hot Springs.
Mourning his loss is his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Judy; his daughter, Susan (Gary); his son, Keith (Shelley); and his son, Dave (Carmen); his grandchildren: Cody (Allyssia), Reece, Timothy, Mia, Kashous; and great-grandchild, Scarlet. He is also survived by his sister Mildred along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Sidney was predeceased by his mother, Emma, in 1953 and his father, Henry, in 1976; his sister Elaine and her Husband Rueben, and brother in law Helmut
He will be laid to rest in the St. Matthew Lutheran Evangelical Church Cemetery to await his resurrection when the Lord Jesus comes again to raise the faithful to life.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Sidney’s honor to either St. Matthew Lutheran Church, SML Academy or to the Lutheran Hour.
