Ronald M. O'Dell

Ronald M. O'Dell (RMO), of Garnerville, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on December 28th, 2013 at the age of 60. He was born on August 12, 1953, the eldest son of the late Roy and Jean O'Dell of Stony Point. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughters Tara and Kim, and grandchildren Gabrielle, Derek, Dallas, and Chase. Survivors also include his brother Kenneth and his wife Debi O'Dell, and nephews Kenny and Robert, all of Florida. Ronnie was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He enjoyed bee keeping and gardening and was a talented artist. He was a proud member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Pope & Young Club. He retired in October 2013 from O&R after 40 years of service as a foreman and developed lifelong friendships that provided him support and strength during his illness of ALS. Ronnie will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, winning smile, and kind heart. Family will receive friends on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY. A service will be held on Tuesday, 11am, at the First United Methodist Church, 249 West Main Street, Stony Point, followed by interment at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ronnie's name to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
