

Born in Drexel Hill, PA, Adele had lived in Chester Springs, PA before relocating to the Hobe Sound area 15 years ago. She loved animals, and along with her husband, Thomas, reared many horses at their Pennsylvania home. Adele had a passion for flowers as well, especially orchids. Once she and Tom moved to Hobe Sound, she became a care taker for the elderly, a job she truly had a passion for. Adele was an avid kayaker and belonged to the 27-80 Paddlers Kayak Club. She was also a member of the Orchid Club and the Women’s Golf Club of Lost Lake. Adele volunteered at various rescue shelters. She is truly loved and will be missed by her family and many, many friends.
Adele is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Flinn of Hobe Sound, FL; daughter, Terri Justice (Kevin) of Jupiter, FL; son, Tommy Flinn Jr. (Sara) of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Kevin and Katherine Justice; brother, Eddie Mettee of Tennessee; niece and nephew, Michelle and Kevin Mettee, and sister in law, Rosemarie Obernier (Bob) of New Canaan, CT. Adele was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Mettee, and sister in law, Sheryl Mettee.
A Celebration of Adele’s life will held on Sunday, June 5, 2016, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Aycock Funeral Home Young & Prill Chapel, 6801 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, Florida 34997. A reception will follow at the Summerfield Community Club House in Hobe Sound.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation, 6400 SW Martin Highway, Palm City, FL 34990 and to the Caring Fields Felines, 6807 SW Wedelia Terrace, Palm City, FL 34990.
