

Louise Carr, 77, passed away on November 19, 2010 in Jensen Beach, FL. She was born on December 23, 1932 in Mobile, AL and grew up in Fort Meade, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph David Lloyd and Velma Jones Lloyd, and sisters Vonciel Barney and Mary Robbins.
Louis graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, MD. She continued her education in the nursing masters program at the University of Maryland to become an instructor in the nursing program at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD. She studied at the Centers for Disease Control before returning to Florida to become a nurse epidemiologist at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. After raising three children, she embraced a second family when she married C. Adrian Carr in 1977.
Louis was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing orchids. She loved all of the beauty of nature, especially birds and butterflies. She enjoyed attending antique shows around the country. Her greatest joys were being with her children and grandchildren and traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. C. Adrian Carr of Jensen Beach, FL, and seven children: Gary Hale, Jr. (and Debbie McConoughey) of Gaithersburg, MD: Sherry Hale (and husband Richard Jarvis) of Longwood, FL; Patricia Jaeger (and husband Scott Jaeger) of Gettysburg, PA; Alan Car (and wife Patricia Carr) of Atlanta, GA; Steven Carr of Phoenix, AZ; Lynne Clark (and husband Rick Clark) of Jacksonville, FL; and Paul Eric Carr (and wife Raigan Carr) of Decatur, GA. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Megan and Christopher Carr, Elizabeth Carr, and Cori and Charles Clark. Also surviving is her brother J.D. Lloyd (and wife Elaine Lloyd) of Battle Ground, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be performed by Louise’s brother-in-law, Pastor Clifford Robbins of Apopka, Florida at 1:30 p.m. on November 21, 2010 at Aycock Funeral Home, 505 S. Federal Highway, Stuart, FL. Friends may call beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Garden, Stuart, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1111 SE Federal Hwy, Suite 222, Stuart, FL 34994.
The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus at Jensen Beach and Treasure Coast Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Louis and the compassion shown to her family.
