Karen Donna and Jimmy, I know we haven't seen each other much in recent years but you are and always will be family. You Dad was such a wonderful presence in our youth.  He had a great laugh and there was a unique combination of strength and gentleness that made him such a joy to be around.  I know my parents certainly felt that because some of the happiest times they ever had were with your parents.  My last and most poignant memory of your father was on the day of my own father's memorial service.  He was walking my mother out of the car being the strength she needed in that moment.  Mom remembered it was your Dad's birthday, but he said, no it was Bill's day and he was there for my mom in such a special way.  In the Spirit of Oneness, Nancy Brennan Janet

Karen, Donna and Jimmy, very sorry for your loss.  I have very fond memories of your parents Don and Janet. Mostly I appreciate that Don and Bill were colleagues at Exxon.  I never knew how close work friends could be, supporting each other and their families until I started working at Exxon too. I once told my best friend at work when I introduced her to family that she's my Mr. Schumacher. My friend said what does that mean? Pete said that's the best compliment you'll ever have. Prayers for your family I know your parents are very proud of you and sending their blessings from heaven.

Don was one of the finest Christian gentlemen I have ever known. He was always faithful to attend worship service and bible studies. I am certain he was greeted warmly as he entered the church triumphant. I will miss him dearly.

Our family has great memories of our long-standing relationship with Don Schumacher and his family. In 1963, when the Brennan family was 2 children, on our way to 4, we moved to Tosca Lane in Houston. Our back door neighbors on Butterfly Lane was the Schumacher's. Don and my dad Bill were both Esso, soon to be Exxon, loyalists, and part of the culture of the neighborhood was transplants to Houston from other parts of the country with ties to the oil industry. Don was a great family man, and our families were close, from parents to children. I remember as clear as yesterday joint family vacations to Florida with Don, Janet, Mimi, and Bill having cocktails on the beach (imagine!). The two attributes I remember most about Don were his insightfulness and his laugh. He was clearly one of the brightest people I ever met, and had a warm combination of sincerity and humility. His laugh was infectious, and he was one of those people who loved laughing at his own jokes when he knew he said something funny. He will be missed.

Don Schumacher was a truly nice and caring man.  He was an integral part of our small group here at church with a wonderful sense of humor and he was such a gentleman by volunteering to walk me to my car at night after our Bible study was over.  I will miss him so much.
