Born in Schenectady, New York, Ellie had finally had enough of the cold weather and moved from Rochester to the Juno Beach/Jupiter area in 1983 before settling down in Stuart.
She was a landscaper and truly loved the outdoors. When she wasn’t hunting, you could find Ellie fishing with a cold beer in her hand. She loved all things Native American and made beautiful dream catchers. Ellie was a very generous person with a kind heart that touched many people, as well as many animals. She truly loved animals, and they loved her. Ellie, our social butterfly, is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Ellie is survived by her daughter, Katrina Scott (Douglas) of Penfield, NY; son, Henry Paul Kruse of Oakhill, FL; grandson, Benjamin Scott of Penfield, NY; brother, Gene Gordon (Sandra)of Webster, NY; sister, Diane Carpenter (Charles Rettig) of Rochester, NY; brother, Joseph Gordon of Greece, NY; sister in law, Becky of Lake Charles, LA; her “second” daughter, Carla Durbin of West Palm Beach, FL; niece, Valarie Kern of Greece, NY; nephew, Ret. Marine Larry Carpenter of Stafford, VI; niece, Barbara Camallaci of Rochester, NY; nephew, Kevin Gordon of Rochester, NY, and many other great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent Gordon who proudly served our country in The United States Navy during The Vietnam War and her significant other, Ray Ahern.
A Celebration of Ellie’s life will be held at the Pine Lake estate clubhouse at a later date.
