Mr. Ernest Alfred Naso

Ernest was born March 13, 1926 in Long Island, NY. He moved to Hobe Sound in 1998 coming from Hicksville, LI, NY.

Ernest was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He served as an aerial gunner with the 444th Bomb Group, 58th Bomb Wing in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations. He operated a turret mounted machine gun in a B-29 to protect it from enemy aircraft during bombing missions over enemy territory. He was on 10 bombing missions and received an Air Medal.

Ernest was an owner of McCaffery-Naso Insurance in Hicksville for over 35 years.

He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Hobe Sound and Knights of Columbus in Hicksville.

He golfed most of his life and had belonged to St. George Country Club, Setauket, NY; Southern Pines Country Club, Southern Pines, NC; and Lost Lake Golf Club, Hobe Sound.

Ernest is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Arlene B. Naso of Hobe Sound; loving daughters, Debra Naso of Parkland, FL and Cheryl Naso (Randall Ricker) of Coral Springs, FL; sister, Madeline Sheridan of Amityville, NY; and brother, Patrick Naso of Mooresville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Naso.

Memorial mass will be 2:30 PM, Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Military honors will be rendered before Mass.
