Born in Pontiac, Michigan, Karen had previously lived in Palm Springs, FL, before moving to the Stuart area over 20 years ago.
Karen was a homemaker, as well as a competitive roller skater. She also taught roller skating and loved to watch ice skating. Karen loved to watch Dancing with the Stars, and American Idol. She truly loved her animals and will be missed.
Karen is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Bruce of Stuart, FL; son, Mark B. Ritchie and his wife, Karen of Stuart, FL; son, Michael T. Ritchie; grandsons, Jesse B. Ritchie and Ray F. Ritchie of Stuart, FL; granddaughter, Elisa, and nephew, Bryan of Stuart, FL.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Swanson, and her sister, Robyn Smith.
