Leroy Jonathan Parker was born on February 18, 1963 to Deotha Parker Jackson and Leetoy Harris, Sr. in Philadelphia Pa.
EDUCATION
Leroy was educated in the Philadelphia, Hawksville public school system and later graduated from Irvington High School in Irvington, NJ.
CAREER
Leroy worked for Ancora Hospital (NJ); HESS gas station and Martin County School Board at Murray Middle until he became disable in 2014. He was also was a union member of AFSCME.
FAMILY
Leroy loved his family and was a great mentor to all his nieces and nephews. He was known to buy them brand new sneakers and play a good game of one on one basketball with them. He was an excellent ball player and the small kids in the neighborhood called him DR. J
FAITH
Leroy received the Holy Spirit as a young teenager and told everyone young and old about salvation
He was known for carrying his bible in high school on a daily basis and the students at Irvington High gave him the nickname “Jesus”
After high school Leroy loved music and became a well known as DJLee in South Jersey. After his venture as a DJ, he decided to go back to those areas at his own expense putting on service in South Jersey community centers sharing on the streets where ever someone would listen. DJLee became DJ for Christ. His later years he moved to Martin County where he was a faithful Chaplain at the Martin County Jail until he became ill. So many inmates lives were touched by his ministry, he donated bibles and eye glasses to the inmates as wells a the word of God
He was a faithful member and supporter to his Church Wings of Deliverance. He always believed the church was beyond the walls, reaching out to all and bringing deliverance to all who received. He followed the footsteps of his sister and Pastor reaching souls at any cost was his joy. He was one who loved Jesus and his people.
FAVORITE
Leroy loved chocolate chips cookies, spaghetti, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
SUNSET
Leroy said bye to this world in Stuart Florida and enter into the gates of Heaven on May 11, 2016 at 11:42am, he leave behind: Carol Moore and three sons Leroy Jonathon Parker Jr., Donald Jenkins and Justin Lee Parker from Whitesboro, NJ; Two grandchildren: Le’elle Nova Parker and Leroy Jonathon Parker III; his father, Leetoy Harris, Sr., Philadelphia, Pa; Siblings: Deanna Smith(Leonard), James Parker(Chris), Allen Parker of Stuart, Florida; Yolanda Parker Jackson(Nate)Oviedo, FL; Glenn Parker(Angelina)Cape May, NJ; Roland Parker, Orlando, FL; Lorretta Parker-Butler(William)Port. St. Lucie, FL; Letoy Harris(Janet)Fayette, NC; Darlene McBride(George)Bear, DE; Gregory Armstrong, Philadelphia, Pa.; Uncle Horace McBurse(Ga); Aunts Verdell(Dell) Whitehead and Mervin(Merk)McBurse(FL), Jean Singletary(NY); A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; Special friends Simone Horne, Reggie, and Randy Stephens. His mother Deotha Parker-Jackson and sisters Ava Parker and Bernice Harris proceeded him in death.
