I know it has been said before, but what a wonderful life. Margaret Maginnis McDonald passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2014 at Sterling House in Stuart, FL, with Treasure Coast Hospice in attendance.
Born in Bensalem, PA on March 16, 1921, Peg lived on a farm outside Philadelphia with her mother Catherine Finn, father John Richard, and Ed and Jim, her two older brothers.
Peg's life changed forever when Ed McDonald drove up beside her school bus just to get a glimpse of her. Distracted, he ended up in a ditch; nothing was hurt but his pride. Peg and Ed married on November 21, 1942 and spent 58 years together. Ed treated Peg to a cruise after the birth of each child while Granny watched the kids. For their 50th Anniversary, they took a trip around the world.
Mom: We love and miss you, but know you are at peace, happily reunited with Dad in eternity.
Peg is survived by: daughter Patricia McDonald Hogan (Joe) of Barnegat Light, NJ, son Robert John McDonald of Boynton Bch, FL, son Glenn Jon McDonald of Delray Beach, FL, daughter-in-law Margaret Miller McDonald, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grand children. She is predeceased by her husband Edward Michael McDonald Sr., granddaughter Katherine Anne McDonald, and son Edward Michael McDonald Jr.
Memorial service will be at Aycock Funeral home on Sept. 6, 2014 at 2 pm. Memorials may be sent to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St. Stuart FL 34997.
