Michael Albert Sessions, 78, of Stuart, Florida, passed quietly into the waiting arms of the Lord at home on March 18, 2018. He was born October 20, 1939, in Washington, DC, to John M. Sessions and Florence Berry, and his step mother, Ellen G. Sessions, who played a very important role in raising Mike, and held a very special place in his life until her passing in 2012.
Mike was a life-long resident of South Florida, graduating from the University of Miami. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Mike founded and participated in many successful businesses endeavors. Mike was known for his adventurous spirit, his friendship and unwavering loyalty. He loved fishing, boating, scuba diving and snow skiing, and also loved spending time with his wife, friends and family, including special adventures with his grandsons. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Denise (Apuzzo) Sessions, and his son, John P. Sessions (Cecilia); his grandsons, Christopher and Bradley of Franklin, NC; brother, Patrick E. Sessions of Coconut Grove, FL; nephew Jason Sessions (Kim) and their children Jack and Tori of Jacksonville, FL; nieces, Elissa Ozeranic (Steve), Kristen Massee (Ned), Genevieve Jahn and many life-long close friends. We would like to extend special thanks to Grumpy’s private care team, Michaelle, Stephen and Jay as he was a unique challenge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am EST, April 7th at St Andrew Catholic Church address: 2100 SE Cove Rd, Stuart, FL 34997 Phone: (772) 781-4415 with a Celebration of Life to follow at Mariner Cay, Club House, 3901 SE St Lucie Blvd, Stuart, FL 34997. All who knew and loved Mike are welcome to attend both.
