Bob was born on September 2nd, 1939, in Thornburg, PA, where he spent his early childhood before moving to Boynton Beach, FL, as a teenager. After graduating high school and serving in the military, Bob attended the University of Florida on a football scholarship before starting work with S.C. Johnson & Son that, over his 40-year career, led him to serve territories in Charleston, SC, and Raleigh, NC.
After his retirement, he fulfilled his lifelong wish to return to live in Florida, settling in Hobe Sound, falling in love with the area and its access to boating, one of his lifetime loves. He enjoyed serving the community in Hobe Sound and surrounding areas for nearly 25 years through his Masonic Lodge, Acacia Lodge No. 163 of Stuart, Florida, and was also very active with the York Rite Freemasonry of Florida.
A more than 60-year member Mason and a perpetual member of the York Rite, he served as past District Deputy in the Chapter, Council, and Commandery. His additional service included membership in the St. Thomas of Acon, Knight Masons and the York Rite Sovereign College, where he was the Degree Director; membership in King of Kings XXV, serving as Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priest and was currently elected to serve as Pursuant Sovereign of the Red Cross of Constantine.
He was also an associate member of Hiram Lodge #40 of Raleigh, NC, where he was able to attend Lodge with his son, Rob. He earned many honors for his dedication to Freemasonry, including the Order of the Purple Cross, Ish Sodi Award, and Cryptic Mason of the Year and was well-respected in that community.
Bob impacted all with whom he came in contact and will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia Eisenhardt; his sister, Nancy Hennel of Naples, FL; his children, Nancy Wenning (Scott) of Dallas, TX; Lisa Bender (Jeff) of Norlina, NC; Robert Eisenhardt (Angela) of Wake Forest, NC; Greg Barbour of Charlotte, NC; and Jennifer Nelson of Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Robert Wenning; Michael Wenning (Marina); Jacob Bender (Stephanie); Eliza Schmidt (Joel); Sophie Eisenhardt; Dani Carnes (Halston); and Nate Nelson; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
