Bill Franklin Claytor, Sr.

Born September 19, 1961 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Yourtha Morrison and Elizabeth Yvonne (Crookshanks) Claytor. On September 20, 1980 he married Donna Faye Fitzgerald. The two were married for 45 wonderful years.

Bill was a self-employed welder and an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Family meant everything to him, and he especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Known for his generosity, Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends in need. He could often be found tinkering in the garage and was famous for being able to fix just about anything. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband; a devoted father and grandfather; a supportive brother and uncle; and a loyal friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bill Franklin “Franky” Claytor, Jr.; brothers, Michael Claytor and Paul D. Claytor; sisters, Arlene Cleveland and Christine Fitzgerald; nieces, Karen Claytor and Brittany Fitzgerald; and father-in-law, Charles “Ed” Fitzgerald.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Fitzgerald) Claytor; son, Paul Wayne Claytor and wife, Morgan; daughter-in-law, Winter Bodkin; grandchildren, Brittany Dyan Claytor, Isaiah Scott Claytor, Zachary Ocheltree Claytor, Calleigh Elizabeth Claytor, Hunter Matthew Bennett, Dawson Cole Conner, and Raelynn Grace Conner; great-grandson, Braxton Scott Thomas Claytor; sisters, Madeleine Snyder and husband, Kenny and Mary Magoon; mother-in-law, Lea Fitzgerald; brother-in-law, Tony Fitzgerald and wife, Lori; sister-in-law, Sharon Claytor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft. Following the visitation, a celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
