David Hershey Driver

Born October 3, 1929 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Joseph Rhodes and Elizabeth (Weaver) Driver. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Irene (Gentry) Driver; four children, Pauline Zimmerman and husband, Ron, Judy Foster and husband, Larry, Jerry Driver and wife, Kathy and Steve Driver and wife, Tammy; nine grandchildren, Krista Hartley, Laura Sinyard, Marc Zimmerman, Michael McLaughlin, Joel Driver, Emily Driver, Jesse Driver, Joseph Driver and Jacob Driver; eight great grandchildren; and Lindsey Schartiger whom he loved like a granddaughter.

He was retired from G.E/Genicom in Waynesboro after 38 years of service. He had a great sense of adventure and was once a licensed recreational pilot and saw much of the U.S. on motorcycle accompanied by wife, Irene. He had a great love of music and blessed many with his voice, harmonica and guitar. He enjoyed his garden and yard. He was a devoted family man and left behind a legacy of faith and love. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Following a private burial, a celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship with Pastor Brett Perrett, Pastor Alan Swarey and Charles Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
