David Willard Fitzgerald

Born February 2, 1957 in Staunton, VA, he was a son of the late James Willard and Jenny (Wenger) Fitzgerald.

David spent many years working alongside his father on Sonny Acre Farm in Stuarts Draft, where they raised feeder cattle and cultivated a variety of crops. He was actively involved in several agricultural organizations at both the local and state levels. To supplement the farm’s income, David became a truck driver, beginning with hauling mail and later driving for Soli Organics. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ellen (Brooks) Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft; daughter, Laura Marie Fitzgerald and boyfriend, Kyle Clark; siblings, Richard Fitzgerald (Debbie), Paul Fitzgerald (Gail), Philip Fitzgerald (Starla), Rebecca Glass (Jim), and Steven Fitzgerald (Brenda); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held in the spring.
