She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles Cartwright; six children, James Zoeller, Wayne Zoeller, Gwen Merritt, Darlene Ward, Milton Cartwright, and Gina Cartwright; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Miller and grandson, Trevor Wood.
Marie, Mom, or Grammy, as she like to be called, was a out spoken, spirited Christian woman and mother. Her life was not always easy, but she did her best to help us all with our life lessons. Marie was a tower of strength and set in her ways, but she loved the Lord our savior, her family and her dogs.
She never met a stranger and she loved to talk. She would tell all her children to call her at any time o day or night and we usually did. Her husband, Charles, stood by her side always and for that we are all very grateful. She always wanted to look her best and would want her eyebrows on before she would leave the house. She was a proud woman and the best mom ever. She was a fighter until the very end and she would not go until she was ready to go. No one could ever replace her in our lives for we all love her very much. She is God's angel now and holds our hearts forever.
Mom, thank you for instilling wisdom and good values in all of us. This is not goodbye, for we will see you again. Rest in peace now for we are forever grateful to have had you in our lives and to call you our mother and wife.Marie was greatly loved by her family and she will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those wishing to attended are asked to meet at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
