Lenora Maude Swecker

Lenora Maude Swecker, 86, of Stuarts Draft, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1st, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. Lenora was born in Elkins, West Virginia to Clyde and Luzetta Pingley on July 5th, 1937. She graduated from Tygarts Valley High School. She married Carroll Swecker in 1958, and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. She worked as a Leasing Agent for General Electric / Genicom for 30 years. She was a member and loyal volunteer of Stuarts Draft Baptist church, working in the kitchen and preparing baskets to give to the community, and she was a proud member of the Stuarts Draft High School Sportsman’s Club. She was an expert on birds, flowers and crossword puzzles, and was an avid sports fan. Lenora was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who dearly loved her family. In addition to her parents, Lenora was preceded in death by a baby, Joni Swecker; and a sister, Doris Ann Strader. Lenora is survived by her beloved husband, Carroll Swecker; sons, Craig Swecker and wife Marybeth of Greensboro, NC, Mark Swecker and wife Mary of Friendswood, TX; daughter, Lisa Bray and husband Abram of Stephens City, VA; as well as her grandchildren, Jeremy Swecker, Jake Swecker, Laramie Swecker, Sienna Swecker, Evan Bray and Andrew Bray. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Esther Winton with husband Shannon of Stuarts Draft; a brother, Charles Pingley and wife Maxine of Elkins, WV; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. Burial will be at the Old Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville, West Virginia on Friday, April 5th, 2024 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, P.O.
