
Born February 19, 1942 in Charmco, WV, a daughter of the late Romie and Cuma Osbourne Mace.
Linda was a homemaker and a member of Greenville United Methodist Church. She had previously worked as a clothing inspector at Premiere Sewing Factory for several years before they closed. She enjoyed collecting tea pots and sewing but most importantly she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William “Mr. Bill” Hipes whom she married June 22, 1959; children, Deborah Lynn Hipes and companion, Lee Lotts, David Hipes, Dan Hipes and wife, Amy Knight and Pam Southers and husband, Steven; a sister, June Gladwell; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Greenville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Kevin Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
