Martha Elizabeth Stinnett, 81, of Stuarts Draft passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at her home. Born December 23, 1939 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Lewis and Willa Bell (Coffey) Stinnett. Martha was a member of Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Church and had been attending Valley Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center where she worked in housekeeping for many years. Martha greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to gospel music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Stinnett; and one sister, Eunice Rachel Stinnett. Survivors include her brother, Orvin K. Stinnett and wife, Dawn of Stuarts Draft; sister-in-law, Audrey Stinnett of Stuarts Draft; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her caregiver, Amy Willoughby, who was there during her final days. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Valley Baptist Church, 26 Sunny Slope Lane, Stuarts Draft with Pastor Frank Hall and Pastor Rob Via officiating. Burial will follow in Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 all who plan to attend will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Active pallbearers will be Rodney Stinnett, Jon Stinnett, Darrick Stinnett, Matt Fisher, Peyton Fisher, and Ray Price, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Ott and Landon Fisher. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 260, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
