Robert Gordon Dean, Sr.

Robert Gordon Dean, Sr., 78, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on April 9, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Harrisonburg on October 1, 1945, a son of the late Eugene S. and Gloria O. (Knighten) Dean. Robert retired from Hershey Chocolate of Stuarts Draft as a machine operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton and Gerald Dean. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Dean, his children, Robert G. Dean and wife Jennifer of Staunton, Angela G. (Dean) Berry of Stuarts Draft, John C. Dean and wife Kristen of Stuarts Draft; siblings, Dale (Dean) Miller of Grottoes, Linda (Dean) Roadcap of Grottoes, Wayne Dean of Mt. Sidney, Christine (Dean) Bibb of Swoope, Jean (Dean) Cutlip of Warm Springs, Jeffrey Dean of Grottoes, Larry Dean of Stuarts Draft, Donna (Dean) Riggleman of Grottoes; grandchildren, Amber Berry of Staunton, Alexus Berry of Staunton, Tyler Berry of Staunton, April Dean of Mint Spring and Rebecca Dean of Stuarts Draft. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Archie Lam officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the funeral home and other times at the residence of 251 Rankin Lane, Stuarts Draft.
