

William “Eugene” England, 68, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Thursday May 10, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Eugene (Punkin) was born on February 2, 1944 in Stuarts Draft and was a son of the late John Charles and Ethel Gertrude (Gilbert) England. He worked as a truck driver for Country Line Trucking and also was a former superintendent of production of Stuarts Draft Sand and Gravel. Eugene’s greatest love was participating in tractor pulls and was very active in the Shenandoah Valley Tractor Pullers Association. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and organized a yearly trip with his children. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will greatly miss him.
Eugene is survived by four children, Carl Eugene England of Stuarts Draft, Michelle Renay England-Otto and husband Larry of Waynesboro, Katrina Lynn Ulrich of Lexington, John William England and wife Trish of Winchester; a sister, Barbara McGuire of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Carl Eugene England, Jr., Caitlin Amber England, Achleigh Raichaun Otto, Steven Eugene Brill; partners in life, Sharon D. Ulrich England, Darlene Thompson; Timothy Thompson, who he thought of as a son; Timmy Wyant, who he thought of as a brother, and all the members of the Shenandoah Valley Tractor Pullers Association. He was preceded in death by a former partner in life, Audrey Dedrick England Bowie; and a sister, Mary Lou Griffin.
A celebration of Eugene’s life will be held on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 2 PM at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Earl Monroe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105
