W.K. Weaver, Jr.

He was born May 11, 1937 in Stuarts Draft, son of the late Tracie Simmons Weaver and Walter K. Weaver, Sr.

Mr. Weaver was a member of White Hill Church of the Brethren, charter member of the Stuarts Draft Lions Club, lifetime member of the Stuarts Draft Fire Department where he served twice as Chief. He coached little league and Babe Ruth Baseball and was a past president of the Sportsman Club. He worked for years in construction and served his community by building many buildings in the area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Lester, Wilson, two infants, great- granddaughter, Ada Grace Dyson and father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Ruby Eavers.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Micky Weaver, whom he married in 1957, two sons, Donnie and Elizabeth Weaver, Larry Weaver; two daughters, Becky and Tracy Crawford, Lynn and Glenn Campbell, all of Stuarts Draft; four brothers, James and Ruth Weaver of Fairfield, Ray Weaver of Stuarts Draft, Vance and Karon Weaver of IND and Robert Weaver of Staunton; two half-brothers, Jerry and Ruth Weaver of Amelia and Kenneth and Fern Weaver of N.C.; two sisters, Ethel and Clyde Ward of Linville, Anna and Fred Mast of Amelia; one half sister, Ellen Weaver of Amelia; grandchildren, Susan and Eric Evenson, Amy and Jamie Dyson, Jenny and Ben Oliver, Kelsey Campbell, Katelin Campbell and Joshua Weaver; great-grandchildren, Elyse, Haven and Camdyn Dyson, Black, Cole and Emily Oliver and Braeden Evenson. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 22, 2011 at White Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Pastor Jim Chappell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, and other times at the residence.

Active pallbearers will be Donnie and Larry Weaver, Larry Cohron, Fred McCray, Roger Welcher and David Truslow.
