
Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, Alan attended Waltham High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. A veteran, he completed basic training and went on to build a distinguished career in pharmacy after graduating from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Over the course of more than 50 years, he served his community as a dedicated pharmacist, owning Monroe Drug before retiring as a senior pharmacist from Walgreen’s, where he spent 30 years.
Alan was predeceased by his devoted wife of 50 years, Arleen (Wilson) Wiggetman, and his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn (Wiggetman) and Harold Nathanson, as well as his parents, Charles and Clara Wiggetman. He is survived by his adoring children: Abby (Jonathan Silbert), Andrea (Jeffrey Brener), and Joe (Michelle Wright Wiggetman); and by his seven cherished grandchildren: Melanie, Joshua, Alex, Jacob, Carly, Gabrielle, and Samantha.
Alan and Arleen raised their family in Marblehead, Massachusetts, before retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2004.
Alan was a familiar and friendly presence in his community, serving for many years as a softball umpire in both Salem and Lynn. His contributions were honored with the prestigious Bunny Lee Award, recognizing him as Most Outstanding Umpire. He was also an active member of the Jaycees, exemplifying his deep commitment to service and community.
Alan was a lifelong fan of Boston sports, especially the Red Sox, and found great joy in spending time on the golf course. Alan will be remembered for his kind and easy-going nature, unwavering work ethic, and deep love for his family.
