Barbara Buxton

Barbara H. Buxton of Wellesley passed away at Wingate of Needham Sunday, November 6, 2011 after a short illness. She was 99. Mrs. Buxton was a Graduate of Worcester Teachers college and briefly taught rural school with six grades in one classroom before her 45 year marriage to Frank Buxton who passed away in 1977. She later married William Paterson who is also now deceased. Mrs. Buxton was a member of the Wellesley Congregational "Village" Church where she was a member of the church's Women's Group. She also was a member of the Wellesley Society of Artists and the Square Riggers Club and for many years did volunteer work. She had a strong interest in watercolor painting and her paintings are in many homes. She was the mother of Patricia Buxton of Wellesley and the late Bruce Buxton who died in 2009. She also leaves her sister, Nancy Perkins, a niece and several nephews as well as several grand nieces and a grand nephew. Private graveside services were held at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury and Memorial Services are planned for Friday, December 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Burtt Chapel of the Wellesley Congregational Church, Wellesley Square. Donations in memory of Mrs. Buxton should be directed to the Music Dept. or the Women's Group of Wellesley Congregational Church, 2 Central St., Wellesley, MA. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, Sudbury
