Dorothy R Mccarthy

McCarthy, Dorothy (Hawker) of Maynard and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland following a period of declining health.

She was 92 and the wife of the late Leonard J. McCarthy, Sr. Born in Cambridge, February 18, 1924; she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. Hawker and Alice Tighe Hawker. Formerly of Sudbury, she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish where she was a member and past president of Our Lady of Fatima Guild. She was also a member and past president of the Thursday Garden Club in Sudbury.

Mrs. McCarthy was a homemaker and the mother of Maureen McCarthy Peck of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Karen McCarthy Park of Stow, Jonathan R. McCarthy of Hobe Sound, FL, David T. McCarthy of Maynard and the late Leonard J.(Bud) McCarthy and Frederick F. McCarthy. She also leaves 7 grandchildren: William and Christopher Peck , Matthew and Lisa Park, Beth and Freddie McCarthy and Amy McCarthy Currier, as well as 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, from the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20. Sudbury at 8:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury at 9:00 o’clock.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Interment will be at New Town Cemetery, Sudbury.
