Douglas Erwin Frey

Doug was born in Newton and grew up in Framingham. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics, which fostered a decades long career in the financial services industry. More recently, he served as a peer mentor and Board President of SCI Boston, and organization dedicated to advocating for and improving the lives of individuals with spinal cord injuries.

His passions included sailing in Narragansett Bay, golf, biking, coaching youth lacrosse and spending time with his extended family and friends.

Doug leaves his wife of 36 years, Sasha Frey of Stow; his children Hayden Frey and Anna Mae Frey, both of Boston; siblings Dale Connearney and husband Kevin of Bonita Springs FL, Dan Frey and wife Geri of Shrewsbury and Joe Frey and wife Judy of Grafton; dozens of nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Visitation will be held at Duckett Funeral Home, located at 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury MA on January 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.

The family extends gratitude to the Stow Council on Aging, West River Hospice and Visiting Angles of Acton.
