

Marilyn was educated in the Concord MA public school system and later earned an Associates Degree from Boston University. She worked at Arthur D. Little, Inc. in Boston, MA and after being a stay at home Mom for 17 years, worked at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard, MA.
She was passionate about music and sang in the Sudbury United Methodist Church Choir and Gospel Group and played guitar in the Strathspey and Reel Society Orchestra of New Hampshire. She also enjoyed swimming, gardening, history, teaching guitar lessons, travel, downhill skiing, knitting, sewing, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and reading. She was very fond of her kitty cat named “Lovey.”
She is predeceased by her brother George R. Simms Jr., and her former husband Alan Ward Goodrich.
She is survived by her son Alan Simms Goodrich of Concord, MA, her son Jay Ward Goodrich of Phoenix, AZ; her granddaughter LaFola Goodrich, her sister Lorraine Nelson of Vacaville, CA, and many other relatives all of whom she loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the MSPCA Boston Animal Adoption Center.
