Pamela Moon Hollocher, 94, of Sudbury, MA, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by love and beneath the glow of the year’s largest supermoon. A devoted nurse, gifted artist, and lover of all things natural and beautiful, Pam touched everyone she met with her wisdom, kindness, and gentle humor. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother whose warmth filled every gathering.
Born in Holyoke, MA, to Coleman Louis Moon and Hildegarde Clara (Leske) Moon, Pam grew up in a friendly village of West Springfield, MA, surrounded by rolling green fairways and the quiet serenity of a neighboring monastery. From an early age, she developed a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty and the comfort of community—a love that guided her all her life.
Pam earned her nursing degree from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, where she met her beloved husband, Thomas Clyde Hollocher, Jr., who was studying chemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Their marriage became a lifelong partnership of curiosity, adventure, and devotion. Together they lived in Rochester, NY, while Tom earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry, and later in St. Louis, MO, during his postdoctoral fellowship before settling with their three children in Sudbury, MA, in 1962.
Throughout her long career as a registered nurse, Pam cared for patients in hospitals in Worcester and Rochester and later served for many years as a public health nurse in Sudbury, where her compassion and dedication earned her the affection of her community.
Pam found joy and inspiration in the natural world. She was passionate about gardening, birdwatching, and the arts, especially fiber arts, which reflected both her creativity and patience. She and Tom shared a love of travel, mountain climbing, canoeing, and paleontology, joining dinosaur digs in Argentina, Montana, Utah, and North Dakota. Together they inspired others with their enthusiasm for science and exploration, including when they gave educational talks to school children.
A devoted believer in community, Pam immersed herself in local politics, history, the arts, and environmental causes. Whether weaving at LexArt, attending a
concert, or sharing stories over lunch, she radiated genuine friendliness and sincere interest in everyone she met.
Pam is lovingly remembered by her children, Kurt Thomas Hollocher and his wife Janet; Susan Hollocher Kirby and her partner Peter Tristan; and Bruce Coleman Hollocher and his wife Cheryl. She was the proud grandmother of Coleman Hollocher, Emily Hollocher and her husband Andrew Feeley, April Farmer and her partner Nicholas Martucci, Alexandra Farmer, Robert Hollocher, Alice Hollocher, Jane Kirby, and Julia Kirby, and she will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Hollocher, and her sisters, Phylis Hawley and Hilde Ross.
A Memorial Service celebrating Pam’s life will be held at First Parish Church of Sudbury, 327 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA, on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 1:00pm, followed by a reception at the church. Family, friends, and all who knew her are warmly invited to attend.
