

Robert West Canfield Jr. (Bob) was born in Memphis Tennessee in 1937, to Robert Sr. and Floy Madeline (Jordan).
Bob spent much of his youth playing baseball, scouting and having great adventures with his younger brother, Bert. Bob attended Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, earned a BBA in Marketing from the University of Memphis, and an MS from American College. He served in the US Air Force for three years and in the USAF Reserves for over 20 years. Bob’s reserve duty included recruiting for the US Air Force Academy. He retired from the Reserves as Lt Colonel. In 2004, Bob was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for his service to the military which included recruiting and mentoring cadets.
Bob spent 36 years with John Hancock Financial Services and continued to work as a consultant even after retiring from corporate life. Bob was an avid sports fan and a huge supporter of the University of Memphis Tigers, the Air Force Academy Falcons and the Hudson High School sports teams. He was a recent proud graduate of the Hudson Citizen’s Police Academy. An endurance athlete in his own right, Bob completed over 35 marathons and half marathons to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and other organizations. After his first wife’s (Suellen) death in 2001, Bob became a volunteer for New England Donor Services as a donor family member. He was one of the longest serving volunteers since the program was initiated.
Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Suellen (Farrell) and sister, Carolyn Shearin. He is survived by his beloved wife Donna (Jones); his daughter, Paige Canfield and her spouse, Elizabeth (Craven), his son Rober† West Canfield III and his wife, Laura (Rotondo), granddaughters Mara, Madeline, Hallie Freeman and her husband Jake, and grandson Bo; step-daughter Abigail Murray and her husband Max, step-grandchildren Rowen and Calem; his brother Bert Canfield, and his wife Eleanor. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Duckett Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons – 656 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury, MA, on Monday, December 1st, 2025 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Rd, on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 at 2PM, immediately followed by a collation at the church in Hawes Halls.
