Robert Francis Dickson

Robert Francis “Bob” Dickson, Jr, 86, a resident of Sudbury for fifty- three years, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Born on August 29, 1934 in Dorchester, he was a son of Robert F. Dickson and Anna (Hicks) Dickson.

Bob attended Dorchester High School for Boys and Northeastern University.

Mr. Dickson proudly worked at The Polaroid Corporation for his entire career spanning fifty years before he retired and freed up his days for more golf. Always a sports enthusiast, Robert was deeply involved in coaching Sudbury youth sports, including hockey, baseball, and girls’ softball.

Devoted father of Robert Dickson III (Cathy) of Warren, Linda Martin (Scott) of Bass River, Karen Langdell (Rick) of Johnson, VT, Paul Dickson of Saugus, Mark Dickson (Tanya) of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Scott Dickson of NH, Nancy Dickson of Sudbury; brother of Carol Russell of Sandwich; he is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Mary Margaret (Fisher) Dickson, who passed in 2018, and by his sister, Barbara Dickson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury. All guests are invited to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury.
