Susan Jean Budge

Susan was born to Doug and Helen Rayner on September 23rd 1957 in Barrington, Rhode Island. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 1979 she worked at Raytheon and subsequently at Stratus Computers as an international customer support representative. In 1994, Sue married Raymond, the love of her life and husband of 27 years.

An avid animal lover from a young age, and often giving homes to the animals who needed them the most, Sue retired in the early 2000’s to pursue her life’s passion of helping local feral cats. She spent countless hours feeding and trapping homeless cats while volunteering for the MetroWest Humane Society. She made friends wherever she went, and those who knew her couldn’t help but notice her genuine kind heart, enthusiasm and quirky sense of humor.

Sue was predeceased by her parents, Doug and Helen. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Budge; her step-daughter, Cassandra; her cherished brothers, Mike and Jim Rayner both of Barrington, RI and Doug Rayner of San Francisco, CA; her granddaughter and many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and countless friends.

A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the MetroWest Humane Society in Ashland.
