

Barry Francis Bohan of Deal Island, MD, formerly of Chevy Chase, MD died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD at the age of 64. Born in Suffern, NY on March 16, 1947, he was the son of Frank J . Bohan, Jr. and Mary Armstrong Bohan. He graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He served as a Federal Veterans Law Judge with the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Board of Veterans’ Appeals, Washington, DC from 1989-2010. Upon his retirement he was awarded the Distinguished Career Award for his service to the U.S. Government. He was also employed by the State of New York from 1972-1998 where he rose from Attorney Trainee to Managing Attorney of the Bureau of Corporations, Department of State. Barry served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1968-1976 and was an honor graduate of the U.S. Army Military Police School. He was discharged with the rank of Captain.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bohan (known professionally as Dr. Linda Berlin) of Deal Island, MD; brother Robert D. Bohan of Suffern, NY; sister, Eileen M. Bohan of Baltimore, MD; and cousins John G. Armstrong of Niceville, FL and David D. Armstrong of Manahawkin, NJ.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 8:30AM to 9:30AM, followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Ave., Suffern, NY. A graveside service and interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie, NY at a later date.
