Bruno P. Battochi

Bruno is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Helen Strickland Battochi. A loving and dedicated father of 2 sons and a daughter, Gregory P. Battochi of Pomona, James A. Battochi of Wesley Hills and Loretta Battochi Horenstein of New City. Also, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A daughter Marguerite Cheeseman passed away on June 2, 2011.

Bruno was very active in the Rockland County Farm Bureau for 8 years, serving as Chairman for 6 years. He served as a volunteer fireman in Hillcrest for many years. Bruno was elected as a Trustee on the Ramapo #2 School Board in 1955. He established Remsen Farms Inc. in Monsey during September 1970 and operated it with some of his family until 1997.

Bruno was the eldest in the Battochi Family and last living member of 2 brothers Louis and Reno and 2 sisters Rose and Mamie.

A brief visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 10am with a funeral mass at St. Boniface Church, Wesley Hills and the interment at Brick Church Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
