

Born on September 13, 1940, in Glens Falls, New York, Charles was the cherished son of the late Charles Joseph Lynch. He was a proud graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. A dedicated public servant, Charles retired as a Lieutenant from the Town of Ramapo Police Department, where he served with integrity and compassion. In addition to all his many accomplishments, he was a former Sloatsburg Volunteer Firefighter and has helped countless people overcome their addictions.
Later in life, Charles found the love of his life, Dorothy Patricia Lynch, and they were joyfully united in marriage on April 16, 2016. Together, they blended their families and built a life full of faith, laughter, and love.
Charles was a devoted father to his daughters, Kellyann Lynch Morgan (husband Danny), and a proud grandfather of Conor. Kimberly Lynch Campbell (husband Kyle) and granddaughter Hannah. He was also a loving brother to Christopher Lynch and Catherine Knoller and their families.
He embraced his bonus family with open arms: Patricia Farmer (Diego Oliveri), Michael and Kerry Farmer, and great-grandson Shane; Nicolas Farmer and Linda; Jeannine and Bruce Ferguson, Gregory Ferguson (Tierney), Bruce and Samantha Ferguson and great-granddaughters Kiera and Matilda; Molly Ferguson; Suzanne Lambert and grandson Colin and Charleton and Ilah Reynar and grandson Quinn and granddaughter Brady.
There are countless beautiful family members for whom Charlie loved and they loved him dearly in return. The DeVincenzo, Buckley, Knoller, Blau, Loftin, Gulick, Varian, and Amorosi families which includes their spouses, children, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; all were loved deeply and cherished immensely by Charlie. With so many people who love him now and over the years of his life, he has been truly blessed by God.
Charles was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart Church and a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Pipe and Drum Band. A man of God and service to others, he touched countless lives.
A lifelong fan of the New York Giants and Yankees, Charles found joy in cheering for his hometown teams. His strong values and love for family and community will be remembered always. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord and Blessed Mary and with his family and friends in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charles’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Ramapo Police Athletic League.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery & Mausoleum in Mahwah, NJ.
