

Born on October 30, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, Dennis was the son of Mark Caccavo and Angela Ciccala. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice. Dennis wore his military service with pride, and it shaped his unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
Dennis was a man who loved to “bust everyone’s chops” with his infectious humor and always kept a smile on his face. Known for his lighthearted spirit, he made those around him laugh, and his positive attitude was a testament to his warm heart. Above all, Dennis cherished his family, and his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.
On September 4, 1971, Dennis married his beloved wife, Rose Ann Cascone, in Brooklyn, NY. They shared a life filled with love and laughter until her passing on January 22, 2019. Dennis is survived by his children, Christine Tolfree (Jim), Michelle Wendt (Eric), and Michael Caccavo (Kristen); and his treasured grandchildren, Justin, William, Julia, Grace, and Reese, who were the light of his life.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, Suffern, NY. Entombment will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
Dennis’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dennis’s name to a veterans’ organization of your choice.
