Dominic John Lepore lost his long and courageous battle with cancer, at home with his family by his side, on April 28, 2015. Dom was born in the Bronx on August 27, 1946 to Vincent and Anna (Savino) Lepore. He spent a wonderful childhood in the Classon Point community where at the age of 10 he met his future wife, Pat. They were reunited in 1968 and married in 1971. He began his career on Wall Street at the age of 20 as a file clerk and retired after 35 years from Salomon Brothers as a Vice President in Corporate Finance. Dominic enjoyed life to the fullest, pursuing and fulfilling multiple dreams. Besides being a knowledgeable resource on the ways of Wall Street, he was an actor, a marathon runner, a clown and a golfer. But he was best known as an ardent and steadfast Green Bay Packer fan. The greatest joys of his life were his children and grandchildren and sharing his yearly family vacation with them in his beloved Maine.
Dom cherished his many friends and was a true and loyal friend to all. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Dom is survived by his wife Pat (nee Sterrett), two children, Christopher (Courtney) and Danielle (Chuck) Murphy, brothers Nicholas (Joan) and Vincent (Carolyn) and grandchildren Liam, Caitlin and Madeline and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern Thursday, April 30, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 1 at Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ at 11am. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in Dominic’s memory.
