

Edward J. Foley, retired NYPD Officer, age 78, passed away after a brief illness on July 28, 2011. Born August 5, 1932 in NYC, son of Lawrence and Catherine (Power) Foley. Graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School in 1950. Lovingly married to Eileen (Dourney) Foley for 42 years, who predeceased him in 2004. Edward joined the NYPD in 1952, and retired after a distinguished career of 28 years. He served with honor in the United States Army National Guard, retiring in 1992, after 42 years of faithful service. A long-time member of the NY State Rifle and Pistol Team, he won numerous pistol and rifle awards, including the accolades of US Army Distinguished Rifleman and Chief's 50. In his retirement years, Edward enjoyed helping out his daughter, Lynne, providing delivery service for Crittters Express Grooming, Inc. of Nanuet, NY. Edward loved spending time with his family, big game hunting, and participating in shooting matches throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Edward is survived by his loving children Eileen Warbrick (husband Kevin) and Lynne Foley, and six cherished grandchildren Kristen, Katelyn, Kelly, Alexys, Barbara and Robert, and devoted brothers Martin Foley (wife Eileen) and Walter Foley. Visitation Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59 in Suffern. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10am at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ followed by an Interment at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. Donations in memory of Edward J.
