

Fay Ruggiero of Chestnut Ridge passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 with her family by her side. She was 81 years old. Fay was born on January 14,1930 in Mount Vernon, NY to Mary (Mosca) and George Cicalese. She was the beloved wife of the late Savior Ruggiero. Fay is survived by her sons Richard, Alan and his wife Melanie Ruggiero; daughter Nancy and her husband Nick Mazis; siblings, Anna Wilkins of San Mateo, CA and Salvatore Cicalese of Tempe, AZ. She was adored by her six grandchildren, Christopher, Alexia, Maila, Michaela, Cade, and Solei and cherished by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her dear friends. Fay worked as a switchboard operator for many years at Girl Friday (Dilene) Answering Service until her retirement in 1995. Fay will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, singing, dancing and making them laugh. She would even take them to her favorite place on Saturday’s, the beauty parlor where she enjoyed going for 30 years. She had a joyful sense of humor that could make everyone laugh. Fay will be in our hearts forever.
The wake will be held on Saturday, February 5th and Sunday, February 6th from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY (845)357-0423. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 7th at 11:00AM at St. Margaret’s Church, 33 N. Magnolia St., Pearl River, NY. Burial will be at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
