Frank S. Contey

Suffern resident, Frank S. Contey, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. He was born on May 28, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ to Simon Contey and Anna Bromerski Contey. After receiving a BS from Villanova University and a Master's Degree in Engineering from Lehigh University, he spent 28 years working for IBM. Beyond work and family, he also spent years volunteering his time and expertise to the American Heart Association and The United Way. In retirement he loved being with family at home and at the Jersey Shore, watching Yankee games and attending West Point football games with his buddies. He lived and celebrated life fully.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joyce Weaver Contey, children Jennifer Flaherty, Frank Contey, Jr. and Carrie Contey, brother Robert Contey. And a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10am with a private committal to follow.
