

Frank P. Hyde, a Holocaust survivor who lived in Pomona, New York, passed away on January 14, 2017 at age 95. He died peacefully and without suffering in his home of 60 years with loved ones and friends by his side.
Frank Hyde is survived by his son, John Hyde; daughter-in-law, Celina Hyde; granddaughter, Natalie Hyde, and Natalie's mother, Helen Hyde.
Frank Hyde was predeceased by his wife, Georgine Hyde, and sister, Mary (“Mimi”) Pekarek. His parents and relatives perished in Nazi concentration camps during World War II.
Frank and Georgine Hyde were married for 74 years, having met as teenagers in pre-War Prague, Czechoslovakia. As survivors of the Holocaust, they journeyed through Europe and Australia before coming to the United States. Frank established a successful accounting practice and Georgine dedicated her life to children and public service with the East Ramapo School Board, New York State School Boards Association, and other organizations.
Frank’s extended family of friends included Bibi Balkishun, Tami Kaplan and her husband Jalal Saad, Elise Oster-Bruck, and Susan Olm.
A memorial service open to the public will be held 11AM on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY.
