Frank was born on February 15, 1939, to Florence and Thomas in the Bronx.
After graduating from the School of Industrial Arts with a focus on architectural drafting, he began his career as a draftsman. He then moved into the construction field, working with the New York City District Council of Carpenters as a layout specialist and carpenter supervisor. In May 1980, he joined the Fire Department of the City of New York as a carpenter supervisor.
Frank asked JoAnn to go steady at her Sweet 16 party, sparking a beautiful journey of friendship and love that flourished into 63 joyful years of marriage. JoAnn was always Frank’s Queen. Their adventure took them from the Bronx to Suffern and then Airmont, where they created a warm, loving home for their three children, Michael (Marianne), Donna (Glen), and Robert (Darcy).
In September 2002, Frank retired from the FDNY, cherishing time with his beloved grandchildren and globetrotting adventures with JoAnn. He embraced hobbies like golfing, fishing, crabbing, and playing cards, and he wholeheartedly volunteered with the Church of the Presentation's Maintenance and Repair Ministry. Friends and family always looked forward to his amazing Italian dishes, which brought everyone together in the warmest of ways!
Frank treasured his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Florence (Barbera), as well as his brother, Joseph. His spirit lives on through his devoted wife, JoAnn, their children, and nine grandchildren: Megan, Justin, Matthew, Brielle, Brian, Kayleigh, Nicholas, Christopher, and Sierra. He also leaves behind a cherished brother and sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
