Frederic Bourguignon

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frederic Bourguignon, 82, of Spring Valley, who peacefully passed away on Friday, November 1st, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Frederic was born in La Valle, Jacmel, to Pociani and Anise Bourguignon. He immigrated to the United States in 1983, where he spent the remainder of his life. Prior to moving to New York, he worked diligently as a member of a factory chain in Haiti. Once in the U.S., Frederic became a dedicated employee at Eugene Levy Hospital in Pomona, NY, where he worked for 25 years before retiring.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Frederic's life was marked by his deep love for his family and his unwavering commitment to others. He was a kind and caring man, always ready to help those in need and provide support to his community. His legacy is one of compassion, humility, and selflessness.

Frederic is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Josette Bourguignon, and their eight children: Ricardo, Perrigo (deceased), Suze, Djohni, Illdrigue, Natacha, Nixon, and Betty. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 3 brothers, a sister, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives he touched with his generosity and warmth.

Frederic will be remembered not only for his love and devotion to his family but for his kindness to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 9 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10 AM, at St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley, NY. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Frederic’s memory.
