Gerta Merelus

Gerta Merelus, longtime resident of Spring Valley, New York passed away at Montefiore Nyack Hospital on April 23, 2022. She will be greatly missed by her husband, her children, Jodel and Fritz Aristilde, her grandchildren, Jaeden, Elijah, Kyla and Saige Aristilde. Gerta retired from Letchworth Village in Thiells, New York, and from Northern Manor Multicare Center in Nanuet, New York where she worked as a Nurse’s Aide and Therapy Aide for over 26 years. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years Robert “Bob” Merelus.

A visitation for Gerta will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 9:00 AM at St Joseph's Church, 245 N Main St, Spring Valley, New York 10977. An interment will occur Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Anthony's Cemetery, 36 W. Nyack Rd., Nanuet, NY 10954.
