

Joan V. Boniello, 85 of Shelton, CT, formerly of Chestnut Ridge, NY, passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2022 with her daughters by her side. She was born in Paterson, NJ on November 8, 1936 to Sidney and Jennie Cable (Straut). She retired from a long career as a Home Health Aide for Rockland County.
She is predeceased by her first husband Frederick J. Szot (1975) and her second husband Frederick Boniello (2017). She is survived by her brother Floyd Cable her children Frederick J.Szot Jr, and his wife Kathy, Bernadette and her husband Andrew Bergin, Barbara and her husband Michael Arman, Rita and her husband Lenny Marrero, Teresa and her husband Victor Figurelli, Lydia Rosado, Julio and his wife Jacki Rosado, and Gertrude Conklin. Michael Boniello, Frederick III and his wife Maryann Boniello, John and his wife Joann Boniello, Lisa and her husband Neil Moynihan.
In addition she is survived by her grandchildren Amanda Szot, Daniel and Molly Bergin, Michael, Hannah, and Hailey Arman, Stephen, Daniel and Frank Boniello, Lenny Jr and R.J. Marrero, Elizabeth Figurelli, Jeffrey, Ryan and Christopher Rosado, Joey Smith, and Michael and Danny Conklin, Frederick IV, Richard, John Jr., Jason, Jeremy, Joshua, and Melissa Boniello, Lauren Marano, and Josephine and Max Moynahan, and 13 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her son Stephen Boniello, her grandsons Andrew Szot and Matthew Rosado, her brothers Robert, Edward, Russell and Richard Cable and her sisters Edith Lechner and Helen Koziel Savastano and her son-in-law Eugene Conklin.
Joan stems from a very large family and was loved by her in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed hosting large extended family get-togethers and arranging enormous family reunions. She loved everyone and was loved by everyone.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that to honor Joan's Memory to please do something that brings you and your loved ones joy and to smile and think of her.
A visitation (please adhere to all NYS DOH mask requirements) for Joan will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A funeral mass will occur Monday, January 31, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Ave, Suffern, New York 10901. An interment will occur Monday, January 31, 2022 at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd., Airmont, New York 10952.
