John Gerard Giovannetti

John was born in Mount Vernon NY on 11/27/1956 to John Giovannetti Senior and Florence Capossi, who were married for 64 years, and predeceased him.

John enlisted in the USAF in 1974 after graduating from Mount Vernon High School. He served at Ramstein Airforce Base in Germany as a SSgt. and was Honorably discharged after 6 years.

He then attended the Westchester Business Institute where he attained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, in Bookkeeping and Accounting.

John had a career in Accounting working for Magic Sliders LLC, Satellite Operations Services, and D’Agostino Supermarkets, among others. He had a love for travel and visited all over the world, bowling, gaming, and anything associated with aeronautics. He was also senior member of the Civil Air patrol in Rockland county. He was an avid sports fan and was a Giants and Yankees fan.

He was married to Fawn Wiener on July 12, 2003.

John is also survived by his Sister, Laura Detrinca and her children (Thomas, daughter Kaiya), Dawn Saracino and her husband Mark (children, Nicholas and Allessandra), and cousins, Lucille Goffi. Jane Seminara, Robert Mayetta and Partner Mitch Goldberg, Barbara Apicelli (Megan, Zachery), Lynne and Tony Luceri (Anthony, wife Lindsey children and Deana Chiarella, children, Ava and Anthony). He is also Survived by his cats, Oscar, Sabina, Tino, Paulie, Jimmie, and Kenny.

A memorial service for John Giovannetti will be held in the Spring for the family. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local ASPCA or animal rescue shelter.
