Kathryne "Ginger" M. McDonald

Kathryne M. "Ginger" McDonald, of Suffern, NY, passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on March 29, 1941, in Yonkers, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel and Kathryn (Connery) Mullin.

Ginger was predeceased by her devoted husband, William McDonald, who passed away in April 1990. The couple married on June 10, 1961, and shared a love for family that was paramount in their lives.

Ginger was an active and cherished member of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ, where she was heavily involved with the Women’s Cornerstone group. Her faith and community service were central to her life, and she touched many with her kindness and dedication.

She is survived by her loving children: Barbara Murphy (Mike), Patrick McDonald (Dawn), Carolyn McGinley, and Susan O’Grady (Dave). She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren: Matthew (Allison), Bryan, and Kyla Murphy; Kaitlyn, Kristen, and Kassandra McDonald; Kelly McGinley; and Bailey and Hannah O’Grady. Ginger also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to McKenna.

Ginger is also survived by her dear siblings: Patricia Begin (Dave), Thomas Mullin (Frieda), Jacquelin Fleming, Daniel Mullin (Dottie), Geralyn Mullin, and Kerry Ciccaglione (Terry), as well as her brother-in-law, Lenny Hennig. She was predeceased by her siblings Rita Mullin, MaryJo Fee, and Judy Gatley, sisters-in-law, Kathleen Hennig and Annette Mullin; brothers-in-law Jack Fee, Marty Fleming, and Alan Gatley; and dear friend Joanna Longo. Ginger leaves behind many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews who will remember her fondly.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, located at 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY, on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 2-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 10 AM, followed by burial at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
