Loretta A. Scanlon

Loretta was born on April 5,1940 to John & Margaret Curtin(Kerry, Leitrim Ireland) of the Bronx N.Y. Loretta spent her childhood in the Bronx and at the age of 17 met the love of her life James Scanlon. Loretta and Jim were married on June 4,1960. In 1965 they moved their young family to Sloatsburg N.Y.

Loretta went onto have a rewarding career in Marketing. She retired in 2012. Loretta loved to travel and enjoy life’s many gifts.

She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, most of all her eight grandchildren and great grandson. If you knew Loretta you knew she loved to dance, dance & dance. If there was music, there was Loretta smiling and dancing. She was kind enough to pass that onto her children.

Loretta was predeceased by her husband James(1992) and her son James (2003). She is survived by her daughter Kerry(Mark) of Dingmans Ferry, PA, son Kevin(Mary) of Pearl River, NY, daughter Kristen (David) of Sloatsburg, NY and her brother John Curtin of Fairlawn, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Meghan, Patrick, Shannon, Sean, MacKenzie, James, Jack and Colin and great grandchild Kai.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm on Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Sloatsburg, NY.
