Marcelle A. Kiene

Marcelle Adrienne Kiene, 81, of Suffern, died on Saturday, April 27, 2013, after a recent illness. Marcelle, a long time Rockland resident, was born in New York City to William and Rose (nee Gerbereaux) Werner. Marcelle was predeceased by her dear husband of 50 years, Edward A. Kiene. She is survived by her loving children Karen, of Suffern, and Edward and his wife Cathy of Airmont and one cherished grandson Alexander.

Marcelle had a long history of volunteer service at Good Samaritan Hospital beginning in the late 1970’s. She was a past president of the Junior (fundraising) Guild and was twice honored for these efforts. She was also a member of the Dove Gift Shop Management Committee of which she was in charge until her retirement in 2003. A plaque honoring the long service of Marcelle and her husband Ed can be found near the entrance to the hospital. Marcelle has also been a long time member of the Women’s Club of Suffern, serving as president several times, and a dedicated supporter of Tagaste Monastery.

A memorial service, date and time pending, will be held at Tagaste Monastery in Suffern, NY

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospital or Tagaste Monastery.
