

Maria “Mary” Antonia Miranda née Bartilucci of Airmont, NY passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 91. Mary was born to the late Rocco Giuliano and Annunziatta “Nancy” Onoratti Bartilucci on November 21, 1930 in Astoria Queens, New York. Mary met her loving husband Joseph Miranda in 1950 and they were married 14 months later on April 20, 1952. They were married for 54 years before Joseph’s passing in October 2005.
Mary was active with the Suffern Seniors and Sacred Heart Church. She loved bowling, bocci, crocheting, reading, Broadway plays and gardening. Above all Mary loved her family and friends and enjoyed all of the many special occasions with them. She was lead in life by kindness and her dedication to her husband, four children, eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her beloved children James Miranda (Barbara), Julian Miranda (Patricia), Debra Schmelz and Nanci Toomey (David); adored grandchildren Bryan (Laura), Matthew (Danielle), Jacquelyn (Luke), Tyler (Elizabeth), Brittney, Kevin, Vanessa (Michael), and Joseph (Christine); cherished great grandchildren Leo, Sofia, Logan, Carter, Mason, Blair, Lane, Miranda, Emily, John, Luke, and Christopher; and caring siblings Ninette Carmerlengo, and Anthony Bartilucci.
She now joins in heaven her parents, husband Joseph and son-in-law, Stuart Schmelz.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 3-8PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 8th, 10:30AM at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY with burial to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
